Bendigo is home to some incredible bike riding trails. Whether you are an experienced rider or you like to go on a leisurely weekend ride with the family, there is something for everyone!
O’Keefe Rail Trail
The recreational trail is located beside the old railway line allowing users to journey the full 49 kilometres. The safe, mostly-level walking and cycling trail is one of Victoria’s great family-friendly journeys. It passes through some spectacular natural bushland, past waterways and recreation reserves. Stop off at the Axedale township for great pub lunch at the local Tavern or pack your own picnic to enjoy along the trail.
Bendigo Creek Trail
Perfect for the whole family to enjoy, there is now a new way to experience Bendigo’s unique heritage, history and attractions; by taking a ride along the Bendigo Creek trail. The Bendigo Creek Trail takes you past some of Bendigo’s most historic icons and attractions of a golden era along the Bendigo Creek.
Along the ride, you’ll be able to take in all the different textures of Bendigo’s grand buildings and civic spaces, the charm of nineteenth century miners’ cottages and domestic streetscapes in the suburbs.
The Goldfields Track
The Goldfields Track is an established pathway that leads visitors through central Victoria’s hidden treasures from deep gorges and fern-lined rivers, to the artefacts and cultural heritage of the greatest gold rush the world has ever seen.
Spanning over 210km the mountain bike trail follows the top of the Great Dividing Range from Mt Buninyong just out of Ballarat to Bendigo, allowing bushwalkers and experienced mountain bikers time to savour central Victoria’s unique combination of gold rush heritage and natural beauty.
Huntly Streamside Reserve
Huntly Streamside Reserve is a lovely 4.5km ride along dirt tracks with a shallow creek crossing. It’s the perfect spot for the family to explore, look and listen for native fauna and learn all about nature in Huntly’s hidden gem. We recommend packing a picnic to enjoy on the banks of the creek.
