Exciting things are happening at Harlowe! Our newest local park, Gumbilang Lar Reserve is beginning to taking shape. Meaning ‘resting place’ in the Dja Dja Wurrung language, the reserve reflects a deeper connection to place, community and culture.
Over recent weeks, key works have progressed rapidly. Play equipment has now been installed, footpaths are complete and landscaping works are underway. Each element is helping to bring this vibrant new community space to life.
In the coming weeks, a shelter with picnic seating will be installed, featuring artwork by Djaara Artists. This addition will create a welcoming place for families and friends to gather. Gumbilang Lar Reserve is more than just a park, it’s a space designed for connection. A place where children can play, neighbours can meet, and the community can come together to enjoy the outdoors.
As Harlowe continues to grow, spaces like this play an important role in shaping a connected, lifestyle-focused neighbourhood where everyday moments are shared and enjoyed.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to the park’s completion. We can’t wait to welcome you to this new heart of Harlowe.
